As a pastor who's worked with many in recovery and as someone who is personally in recovery, I can honestly say this is one of the best books I've ever read on the topic of sex & pornography addiction (and I've read quite a few). Forest has a unique voice. He speaks with the authority of an experienced therapist, yet also shares with vulnerability and transparency from his own experience. His story resonated with me deeply. I especially loved the section on "mastery" which is full of practical tips on how to heal from a shame based identity and learn new, healthy ways of coping with stress and difficult emotions. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is personally struggling with lust/pornography and anyone wanting to help others in recovery.

I read this book as a therapist looking for more good resources for my own clients, as a mama to young kids growing up in a world that objectifies people ALL THE TIME, as a wife to a man in recovery, and as a woman in recovery myself. Needless to say, I could read this book through a variety of filters, and EVERY ONE OF THOSE filters gives this book 5 stars. Hands down, I will recommend this book to every client, not only the ones currently struggling through sexual addiction, but to friends and family of the struggling person. As a mama, Forest includes a few sections on raising our kids in this culture and how to best protect them. SO GOOD. So eye-opening. Every parent needs this book. As a wife, it helped me to understand some of what my husband might be thinking or believing about himself in his own recovery and ways I can continue to support him. AND, finally, as a woman... we often think it's only men who struggle with lust or objectification, but Forest has cleverly written this book in such a way that I found myself resonating with his chapters as well. This is NOT just for men; women will benefit too. So basically, this book is a must read for anyone. Oh, I'll add that my teenage daughter is reading the book now (she's 17) and said she LOVES it and has a handful of people she wants to share it with. So there you have it... it's even impacting teens.

This book has pragmatic and powerful steps which guides the person to develop a solid recovery. It is easy to read and too the point, not overfilled with too many details or micro-analysis. Bridge's Oil is an excellent overview of the marketplace for oil, its position within a country's energy portfolio and the political aspects of each stage of production, marketing and consumption.Highly detailed and oriented toward readers with some exposure to economics, this book was probably aimed at college undergraduates but anyone with an interest in this topic can learn a great deal. Even though the writing is academic in style it actually flows really well. While it is possible to quibble about a historical error or two those mistakes are not critical to understanding the subject. Instead, my only real complaint is that the book could have used some more graphs and illustrations.I liked this title enough that I would buy others from this author and the other books in the series.

I am a 24 year old mom who plays Xbox One Edition. This book is more geared towards PC/Mac platforms, although I'd say 95% of this book is compatible with the other platforms. Just different controls. At the beginning of the book it does mention that there's an Xbox version of the same book. I kinda wish I knew that beforehand but it's no big deal.When I get any book I usually read it page by page, even a book like this. I just like making sure that I dont miss anything. But this was a book I just couldn't do that with.This book is made much much like a textbook you'd find in college. I mean, I actually think this was published by a company that makes school text books. Doesn't make it any less awesome.I can't see this book being used by the younger children unless they're a genius. It's a lot more wordy than picture book. and there's big words used-some of which I didn't know the meaning to.... And I've been through college lol.If you're looking for a book for a young child, I'd recommend the Official Minecraft Handbooks. (Essential, Redstone, Combat and Construction) I own the updated set and they are a much easier read with a LOT more pictures. In fact, pictures are on every page, labeled very well with step by step instructions.The difference between this book and the handbooks is there is more detail and explanation in the Player's guide. For example, Redstone Handbook shows you how to make an automated farm, while Ultimate Players Guide shows you why the automated farm works. I've been playing Minecraft a long time and never really messed with Redstone because I just don't understand the concept. I need to know WHY something works, not just how. And this guide gives me a better picture.Simply put, what I don't pick up from the Handbooks I find in the Ultimate Players Guide. (That's not to say I don't love the handbooks) I'm surprised about how much I've learned and it's not even that thick of a book. I was a little worried when I saw how thin it was. I have been marking it up like crazy with my highlighter and sticky tabs. There's so much I know I'll need to go back to.Totally recommend this book to new players who don't want to invest in the handbooks. This book thoroughly gets you through the first night. It even describes​ how to get started with a seed and all the settings. I've been playing the game for 4 years now so the first few chapters weren't helpful to me but the rest is very helpful.If you're a more experienced player, I'd recommend getting the Handbook set first and if that doesn't fulfill then get this one. I'm very happy to have both and find myself going back to all of them when I have a question. Hope this is helpful! Happy mining!
As a parent trying to play with my son, a game I find difficult ("It's so easy, Mom!") this book has helped already. The Kindle books I own are fine, but to have an actual book in my hand makes it so much easier look things up while playing. This has been a great addition to my Minecraft reference library, and by far the most useful to me.
While I'm not a fan of the cover art, the book itself is absolutely amazing. Very clear writing style, tons of step-by-step explanations and examples with excellent photos, and incredibly comprehensive - this is, in my opinion, truly the ultimate guide to Minecraft.It does a far better job of explaining things, and in simple language, than even the official manuals from Scholastic. (I found these manuals to be of high quality, and pretty cool, but very limited on their information.)After buying 5 other Minecraft guides and being disappointed or frustrated with each one, I was very pleased to discover this book. This is now the only Minecraft guide I use (outside of the online wiki), and the only one I need.It is written very well to where most children should be able to comprehend it, but keep in mind that it is several hundred pages and quite comprehensive. This is probably not something most 10 year olds will be able to read through cover-to-cover...but hey, what do I know? These kids are so into Minecraft, I suppose anything is possible.
I've ordered a few various Minecraft books for my son for Christmas, this was probably the most thorough and well written ones with plenty of colorful photos. I'm sure he'd love it but I opted to send it back since there is a second edition of it out. Admittedly, on this books listing it does show there is a newer version of this product available - which I didn't notice. Strangely enough, Amazon buries the second edition version if you search for minecraft under books. Maybe a way to help move old inventory since the newer version of this book notice is easy to miss. Had the second edition of the book not been a part of the black friday special today, I wouldn't have known it even existed. So I ordered that one and this one will be going back.
My 11-year-old Minecraft obsessed son received this for Christmas. He loves it. It has helped him learn how to do many new things such as taming animals. I don't get it but he likes it so that's all that matters to me!
